Spring Break - Day 1: A Trip to Burns Park

And They Was Good

Allison decided that she wanted to read the bible to me last night before she went to bed. Here is how it went:

"In the beginning, God created the mommies and the daddies. And they was good."

So sweet, but completely cracked me up!

The Pioneer Woman Cooks!

After last night's dinner, I will never view the humble quesadilla as a quick, ok-tasting Mexican/Tex-Mex meal.

I found a website a month or so ago called The Pioneer Woman Cooks. Let me just tell you, the girl can COOK!

I have made a couple of her recipes, but I tried the quesadillas for the first time last night. They were so good that I am still daydreaming about them today.

Now, I'm just going to tell all of you Martha Stewart-loving people (oh, who am I kidding? Only two people read my blog), the Pioneer Woman is no Martha Stewart. You will find all of the ingredients called for at your local chain grocery store. And the food is anything but stuffy.

The other thing that I love about The Pioneer Woman? She is an awesome food photographer, and she shows pictures of every detailed step. She even gives you a printer-friendly version.

Go take a look - she's my new favorite cook.

Daffodil Day

The weather has been so warm the last couple of days, so Allison and I got to FINALLY get outside for some fun with our friends Christina and Annabelle.

On Friday, we headed over to Burns Park where Allison and Annabelle did the slides, merry-go-round, and swings. Unfortunately, my camera forgot to make the trip so I don't have pics.

Yesterday, though, the camera did make it to Wye Mountain with us to see the daffodils. The girls had so much fun. Nana and Mimi met us there as well, and Allison thought that was just grand.

Here are a few of my very favorites from Wye Mountain:
